colourQ #85

Yay! It's Tuesday and the first of my scheduled posts!  I am probably in the car about now, starting the 13hr drive to Victoria.

I have a fabulous (seriously awesome) combination of colours to share with you from ColourQ.
I couldn't wait to make a card with these colours. I love the box in this inspiration photo, so retro and cute! The salt & pepper shakers are pretty cute too.
Here is what I came up with:

This is a tad smaller than the typical card size, so I find that flower a little overpowering, but isn't it fun? I found this fabulous blog by Mary Dawn, My Pink Mexico. She makes the most amazing cards, and is now an A Muse consultant. She posted this most fabulous tutorial on how to make these little chrysanthemums and I fell instantly in love. So I raced over to my felt pile and made one!

The birds are from PTI's love birds set, stamped in Sorbet, Chocolate and Grey Wool inks by Close To My Heart. The felt is PTI's melon berry.

Head over to the ColourQ blog to check out the delicious designs the Royal Court has come up with to inspire you.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great week. :)

  20. Hi Kasia!

I found your blog via Pinterest tonight & I have been glued to it for hours now! I love, love, love your style! I find myself wishing, with each project I come across on your blog, we could be "real life" friends & stamp together - you have such fun products that you work with & really know how to use each & every one! :0)

I truly love this felt flower you made & really want to make some to turn into hair clips for my two year old daughter! I did visit Mary Dawn's blog to learn how to create it but there were many details I didn't get from the tutorial that I was hoping you can help with.

Where did you buy the felt you used & what "kind" of felt is it? I love how vibrant the color is & that it doesn't seem to be "bulky" like many felts I've come across. And what size should I cut the felt to? Mary said something about two inches but I wasn't sure if that was that was the length? The height? Your flower seems larger than the ones she was making - what size was your beginning piece of fabric?

Finally (sorry for all the questions - I really, REALLY love this flower & want to make it as perfect as yours!) I could not understand for the life of me what kind of adhesive she was using! I couldn't believe how strong it was - I need some of that stuff! :0)

Thanks so much in advance for any help you can offer. I will definitely be following your blog from here on out!

    Hugs,
    Christine aka The Stampin' Ninja
