pink for color throwdown #110

I can honestly say that I am NOT a fan of pink! So when I saw that this week's color throwdown was shades of pink, I saw it as not only a colour challenge, but a very personal mental challenge as well. :)

But I took it in stride and created not just 1 but 2 cards using the dreaded colour! (it's not that bad really!)

I have many friends with birthdays this month and a couple of them LOVE pink so it was for a great cause. This one was made using PTI cardstock (vellum and smokey shadow), the hearts are cut out from basic grey's olivia line (12 X 12 size), and the polka dot paper is from a digital kit by Jen Allyson called Ornament Ice Blue Papers available at 2peas. I altered the colour of it in Photoshop Elements. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and also the stripes I stamped in Versamark on the vellum.

This card was made using a another digi kit from 2peas called Rhinestones and Skulls by Holly Brooke Jones. The sentiment, I think, is Close to My Heart.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I am going to the Home and Garden show tomorrow in hopes of getting a glimpse of Ty Pennington and maybe even an autograph if I can handle waiting around that long! I can not watch one episode of Extreme Makeover without crying!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

  5. Kasia, you are so funny! These cards are WONDERFUL! And I am not usually a fan of skulls, but I think the second card is a hoot! The first one is equally as sweet! Thanks for playing with the CTD this week!
