RetroSketches #22 and a special guest!

Good Morning!
How are you this fine Saturday?

I have a RetroSketches sketch to share with you to day but an extra special surprise too. We are so excited to have a fabulous sponsor with us this week!!
(So exciting I know!!)

They are a fabulous little company based out of Utah.
Here's a bit about the company in owner Alison's own words!

We're a small company from Utah that specializes in clear photopolymer stamps that are made right here in the USA! These stamps are fun, whimsy, and sometimes a little quirky. We try to keep them trendy. The sentiments will always put a smile on your face. We began in January 2012 with the release of four stamp sets and are now up to 17 and growing.

We at The Alley Way bring you one of a kind stamp. All of our stamps are hand created with you in mind; even our sentiments are made to go perfectly with each set. One of our favorite things to do is pick out PUNNY sentiments and the perfect stamp name.

Check them out here, and their blog here.

This week's sketch is based on this gorgeous creation by Arielle.
Pretty in pink!!

My card for this week was made using the Castaways stamp set.

 cute set right?

I couldn't resist that little puffer fish!!
And the sentiment was just too perfect to pass up.

Next week is our 3 year wedding anniversary,
and I thought Cam would love this. :)

I played around a little bit with the orientation of the sketch.

Hop on over to the RetroSketches blog to check out what Arielle, Jackie and Laurie have in store for you, then link up your own fabulous take on this cute little sketch.
Remember you have until Thursday Aug 2nd to link up.

Also stop by The Alley Way stamps to have a look around, they are just too cute!

One little bit of sad news to share, Jackie will be leaving this lovely little band of crafters to explore new things. If you haven't heard already she is starting up a new fabulous challenge blog, that will get you breaking out your electronic die cutting machines. :)

Stop by her blog for more info!

RetroSketches #21

Morning!!
Happy Saturday.
I hope you are having a wonderful day so far. :)

It's time for another RetroSketch challenge!

This week's is based on this adorable card by our guest designer Tracey McNeely from In My Creative Opinion.
Go and take a look around, you will not be disappointed!!

Cute huh?

I decided to pull out some new paper I just got from My Mind's Eye.
Boy have I been loving their papers lately!

I also pulled out my Tag Sale #5 die from PTI along with their Just The Ticket stamp set.

The rolled flower, which is my first attempt at it, is made with PTI felt and their hearts border die.

You can check out the tutorial here.

Don't forget to stop on by the RetroSketches blog to oogle at what Arielle, Jackie, Laurie and Tracey have made this week.

You have until Thursday July 26th at midnight to link up your creations.

Have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks so much for stopping by. :)

poster fun

Hello!

I just wanted to share some non-card fun for a sec.
I recently discovered a new-ish photo editing site called picmonkey.

While I was playing around with a photo I took at a friends wedding I found the most FABULOUS effect.........posterize!

I am going to print out this flamingo one because my aunt loves them.

As you can see, I now want to posterize everything!!

These are all photos I took and played around with in picmonkey.
Some of them not only were edited with the posterize effect but I played around with some others too, like cross process, dusk, and intrepid.
All super fun effects.

You should try it out. It's totally free!
But I forewarn you, it's seriously addicting. :)

A Little Lovin for the sentiment.

RetroSketches #20

Good morning. :)

It's time for me to share a new RetroSketches sketch with you.
This week's sketch is based on this STUNNER by Laurie.
Gorgeous!

My good friend and teammate (in roller derby), Killer Spice, is retiring this year.
We are all heartbroken but understand that these things sometimes have to happen. We all want what is best for her!

I made this card for the team to sign and give to her after our game later tonight.

I hope she likes it!
I chose the colours because our team colour is teal.

ColourQ #145 and a goodbye!

Good morning and Happy Tuesday!

(I really hope this posts because I am currently off on a camping trip with the girls!)

It's time for me to share with you this week's ColourQ colour combo.

Cute colours, and that washi tape is super yummy!

I really really badly wanted to try creating my own plaid, so I took out my PTI faux ribbon set and started playing around.

This is the end result!
I paired it with Paper Smooches' hot concoctions set.

Head on over to the ColourQ blog to feast your eyes on all of the delicious creations from Arielle and the rest of the DT.
Don't forget you only have until Sunday July 15th to link up your creation to be eligible to be this week's colour queen!

Now the goodbye is because I have decided to step down from my ColourQ duties. I absolutely LOVE being on this challenge team, they are such a sweet and talented bunch of ladies. But I am finding myself a bit overwhelmed with life lately!! I've been trying to suck it up for a while now but have been falling behind and I feel terrible about it, so I thought this was the best decision.
So a heartfelt thank you goes out to Arielle and all of the wonderful ladies of ColourQ, and to you guys for supporting me for the last two years. :)

This is such a fabulous community to be a part of.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hugs to all!!

Paper Smooches Trend Watch Challenge

Good Morning!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend!
Happy Canada Day to my Canadian friends and Happy (early) Fourth of July to my American friends.

We had thunderstorms most of the weekend but some wonderfully sunny and warm patches in between, so we were able to get a bit done on our yard.

Well, since it's Monday and the first week in July, I have a Paper Smooches Sparks Trend Watch Challenge to share with you.

The trend watch challenge this time is Food Fresh!

There are a ton of food images in Kim's sets.
I chose to work with the multiple apples you can find throughout the sets.

For this card I used Smarty Pants for the small apple, Fruitastic for the large apple and Falling for You for the sentiment.

I just love this colour combination.

Head on over to the Paper Smooches Sparks blog for all of the details. You have until Sunday July 8th at midnight EST to play along.

Don't forget to stop by the rest of the DT's blogs to check out their fabulous creations and leave them a bit of love. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
