Paper Smooches Guest Post #3

It's Wednesday so I have another Paper Smooches card to share with you. My time as a guest designer is almost at an end, but not yet!

The card above was just me trying to use more patterned papers. I have a million sheets with no idea how to use them, in my CAS style, other than paper piecing. The orange piece is paper tape that i coloured with a copic to match. Originally it was supposed to mimic a shag rug but I put it on on the wrong side of the card so is now just an accent strip! The buttons are, again, linen ones that I coloured with copics.
This card was super fun to make! It is the reason that I bought the wood sheets I spoke of here. I made the "wallpaper" using an image from the scooter set, then coloured it all in with copics. The wood bottom is to be a desk or shelf and the white piece some trim. To make the little piece of cord that sticks out from behind I used the end of the "you turn me on" sentiment that comes with Boob Tubes.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

hi friend!

So I was attempting to clean up my craft room, (well really just my desk!) and I found a remnant that I just had to use. A piece of fence from an earlier card.
And of course sitting on my desk are my Paper Smooches stamps, so they made it on to the card too!

I think I managed to use a stamp or two from about three different sets! It's hard to tell but I went back over the sentiment with a Spica to give it some sparkle. The paper is Mabel from the Stella Rose collection by My Mind's Eye. I am loving these papers. (You'll see some more a bit later!)

Thanks for stopping by!

Get Well

Helloooooo there! Today is my second post as a Paper Smooches Guest Designer, and HOORAY my stamps arrived in the nick of time. :)

I absolutely adore those "boob tubes"! Aren't they just so fabulsously retro and funky?

The card I have to share today, I believe was influenced by where I work! I am a Respiratory Therapist and work at the hospital in the Intensive Care Unit. I guess maybe looking at monitors all the time that's what I saw in one of the TV's and that "antennae" looked a lot like part of an EKG tracing.  At least that's what I saw. :)

The sentiment is from another one of this month's sets "sentiment sampler". Which has an abundance of fabulous sentiments for plenty of occasions.
Funky huh? Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great Wednesday!

Celebrate!

I don't know if you've seen, but Moxie Fab World is having a challenge: In My Beautiful Balloon. It's based on the fabulous trendiness of hot air balloons, which they featured in their March/April issue.

I made this card the other day for this challenge. My only wish is that I had cut the paper in a different spot because of where the sentiment was going. It just didn't look right in any other spot and unfortunately it ended up right over the darkest portion! Oh well!

I used a balloon shape from Silhouette to create a card and cut it out. The paper is from that awesome My Minds Eye 6x6 pad "true blue". The basket was just cut from PTI chocolate paper and I drew on the lines with a marker. The sentiment is from the Paper Smooches set "pretty phrases" and the heart from "spiffy scooters". Which I just stamped onto scraps from the balloon cut out and added glossy accents to them.

I will be back later today to post my very first card as the Paper Smooches April Guest Designer! Yay!!
Thanks so much for stopping by. :)

wedding card for Kim!

So yesterday was Kim from Paper Smooches Stamps' wedding, and her wonderful design team had a fantastic wedding blog hop for her. Check out the beautiful cards they made for her here. Cool thing is, they invited us to play along too by making a card for her with Paper Smooches stamps.
Well I couldn't pass up the challenge, plus Kim is just WONDERFUL!

So here's my card, and Happy wedding wishes to you Kim (and your new hubby!)

The sentiment is from their February set Pretty Phrases, the heart from Falling for You, and the stems are from the March set Friendly Flowers.
Have a wonderful Sunday! Thanks so much for stopping by. :)

Seriously??

Edited to Add: A couple of people have asked how I flipped the monster. I have a "reversing block" which is almost really just a flat rubber block. You stamp your image onto it, like kissing, and then stamp the image using the flat block. It's not the greatest result so I had to go back over the lines with a black fine marker. I have heard you can also use an eraser, or Ezmount on an acrylic block!

So I have one last card that I have been trying to make for a while. I've had an idea for the "theme" of the card but didn't know how I was going to lay it out. I hope that it makes sense........
I imagined they are at some monster party! How faux pas right?

The monsters are, of course, from the Papersmooches "falling for you" set. The speech bubbles and words are from October Afternoon's "comic bubbles" set. There are some really cute & funny sentiments on it.

Thanks for stopping by! I'm off to bed after a fabulous 2 nights at work. Just had to create this before I nod off. :)

It's official.....I'm addicted!

Have I told you lately that I love Kim Hughes' stamps??!!
OK so I may be a little bit addicted, but at least I'm admitting it right?

I have one more card to share that I made using one of the templates that she offers, the cloud template. Now I dont have Makes the Cut program so I did cut this out by hand but it wasn't a problem. I'm sure there is a way to do it in the Silhouette software I'm just not techy enough to figure it out!

The sentiment is from an older set of Kim's from Cornish Heritage Farms.

Just one more little thing I am addicted to, Adele! Thanks to Keva I can't get enough of this woman! Her voice is phenominal! Her single Rolling in the Deep is unreal. I normally love my punk rock but I do have a soft spot for a few other genres. :D

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a fantastic weekend!

one more.....thanks bunches

I am quickly posting this card as I had forgotten to tag it onto my post from the other day.

Yet another card made with Papersmooches stamps. :)

Made using both the "friendly flowers" set and the "vegtastic" set (sentiment). I paper pieced it with some older Basic Grey paper. I think it's from their eskimo kisses line.

This cold sure is kicking my butt. Maybe when you haven't had one in a couple of years you have to make up for it!
Hope everyone's having a good Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!

Woo Hoo! CQC challenge #75

Fabulous colours right? I thought you would agree with me. :)
Holy Cow are these ever bright and cheerful!

Since it's common knowledge how much I LOOOOOOVE Kim Hughes' stamps, I thought I might as well continue to use them. I think it's going to be neck & neck between Papersmooches and Papertrey Ink in the battle for favourite. (to be honest they will be forever tied as I love them both for different reasons......shhhhh!)

When I saw the colours Arielle had picked out for this weeks ColourQ challenge I squealed in delight! I know I may not be known for my bold use of colour, but I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them.

I adore this scooter. I mean, how cute is it?
I have a lot to learn when it comes to colouring with copics. I was one of those kids that loved to colour but the extent of my ability was to outline (darkly) in the colour I was using then lightly shade inside. I have no concept of real shading or the ability to envision where the light is coming from. But I do love to colour.

The scooter is from Papersmooches March release - "spiffy scooters", and the sentiment from "vegtastic". That lovely grid background is from my other new favourite background stamp, by Hero Arts "envelope pattern".

As always the rest of the fabulous design team has some yummy creations for you to check out over at the ColourQ blog. Head over and peruse, then show us what you've got.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a fantastic Tuesday. :)

Papersmooches! Papersmooches!

Well i finally got my stamps in the mail and I was so excited to use them. I LOVE Kim Hughes' stamps. Have I mentioned that before? :)
So much that I, of course, immediately signed up for ther 12 month club. Automatically every month I will get sent to me the 3 new releases. I'm not even the slightest bit concerned I won't like them, they are all so adorable. Check them out here.

I was looking through all of my digital papers because I wanted to play around and found this background paper in one of PTI's colour couture downloads. I thought it kind of looked like spiders. I know maybe a bit of a stretch but still!

I can't wait to use them all.
Thanks for stopping by! have a great day. :)

Papersmooches!

I LOVE Kim Hughes' stamps! And I was so utterly ecstatic to discover that she has opened a store of her own and is producing new stamps.

Visit her store and check out the fabulousness, Papersmooches. She also has a blog here.

She has free digital images available and while I wait patiently for my stamps in the mail I thought I would create a little something quick using them.

I used photoshop elements to create this paper and printed out the sentiment. Super fast & easy but I love the versatility of the digital stamps.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
